Holiday Tree or Christmas Tree?
Holiday Tree or Christmas Tree?
So I just wrote a blog post about the Stonebridge at Potomac Town Center Tree Lighting coming up on Friday. Normally I would have been calling it Christmas Tree Lighting or Tree Lighting, but the sign at the entrance to the Stonebridge at Potomac Town Center Shopping Center specifically referred to as Holiday Tree Lighting.
Politically correct of course would be Holiday Tree Lighting as I don't want to offend someone. But I also have to admit that crew up we always had a Christmas Tree. So although Holiday Tree is politically correct I still call it a Christmas.
Also growing up we bought and decorated the Christmas tree on Christmas eve. The house was decorated for the holidays prior to the fist of advent and each advent Sunday we light up an additional candle until Christmas eve all four candles were lit.

So anyone that wants to be politically correct is perfectly fine with me as I am trying to be politically correct too but its hard to fight tradition.

The other day I went to a home inspection in Woodbridge VA and the home was not ready for, by fare not ready for the home inspection.
My clients loved the home as it was an investor owned home and the investor did a great job to make the home look very nice but what was behind it didn't really hold up. Some of the pluming wasn't connected, the heater was not connected and many more issues. The contractor the investor hired did a very bad job, the owner didn't even the poor condition the home was in.
5 minutes into the home inspection for the Woodbridge VA Home we discovered some major issues, one hour into the inspection the issues pilled up and 2 hours into the inspection the contractor showed up. The owner did agree to fixing ALL the issues that came up, but the home inspection left such a bad taste with my clients they no longer wanted to move forward with the purchase of this home. Who can blame them? After the home inspection they moved on and are now the proud owners of a beautiful home that passed the home inspection with flying colors.

Let the buyers in and if at all possible go for a walk, but if not keep in mind to give the prospective home buyers their privacy.

Well I have to admit I had some help my then boyfriend now husband has been in Real Estate for most of his life and he was the one that got me interested in Real Estate and more important due to him I saw the great advantages owning Real Estate can give you.
Coming from a country were over 70 % of the people rent, the Real Estate dream was never on my mind, although I grew up in a home my parents built and own. Rent payments can be unpredictable and typically rise each year, but most mortgage payments remain unchanged for the entire loan period, as long as you have a fixed rate loan. If the taxes go up, the increase is usually gradual. This stable housing cost especially important in times of inflation, when renters lose money and owners make money.
2) Tax Savings
Homeowners can be eligible for significant tax savings because you can deduct mortgage interest and property taxes from your federal income tax, as well as many states' income taxes. This can be a considerable amount of money at first, because the first few years of mortgage payments is made up mostly of interest and taxes.
