Happy Birthday to my beautiful sisters Karin and Silvia. They are turning 30 years old today. From Woodbridge VA to Zurich Switzerland, I wish them ALL the best and sorry I couldn't be there to celebrate your special day with you.

So proud of both of my sisters. They are beautiful, intelligent and hard working, I could not have wished for better sisters. Although growing up I was quite jealous, being an only child for so many years and then suddenly having the two cutest little twin sisters getting everyone's attention wasn't easy on this spoiled older sister.

    

Knowing they are turning 30 makes me realize how old I am. Wow time goes by so fast. My dad recently sent us some old pictures from back in the days.

The Government Shutdown impacts Real People, in the Real Estate Market it impacts buyers and sellers alike. Both yesterday and today I heard from clients that work for the federal government and are not receiving any paycheck, they don't know when their next paycheck will come. They might even have to report to work because they are considered essential personnel, but they don't know when or if they will receive a pay check. They are worried and are considering to put their real estate plans on hold because of this uncertainty. 

For my clients sake and everyone else I truly hope the government can get this issue resolved and figured. No one should be in the situation of not knowing if and when they get payed. Not knowing how you pay your next mortgage payment, rent or car payment. Having to put all your plans on hold because some people in congress have to throw a tantrum. It's not fair to anyone.

I am pretty sure this will get resolved but it will have a real impact on people, our economy and the local Real Estate Market. The sooner congress agrees to a solution the lesser the impact will be.

-          FHA case #s cannot be ordered/assigned.  We cannot order appraisals without the case #s.

-          IRS Tax Transcripts – cannot be processed at this time

-          USDA Rural Housing and VHDA commitments

-          Re-verification of employment for Government Employees

-          Social Security verifications

-          Flood Insurance certifications

-          FHA/VA loans that have closed and are waiting to be insured

-          Any other Federal Government related facets of our loans

Our local Woodbridge VA Real Estate market is heavily dependent on the Federal Government. Think about it how many of your neighbors work for the Federal Government? I can think about several of my clients that are working for the Federal Government and that have put their Real Estate plans on hold until this shut down is resolved. Some even think further and will be waiting until the debt ceiling debate has been resolved.

Overall the Woodbridge VA Real Estate Market is still strong but this shut down has and will have an impact. Let's hope this will be resolved shortly.
