Should I rent or buy a home if I have Pets

Should I rent or buy a home if I have Pets, by Claudia S. Nelson with Keller Williams Realty in Woodbridge VA

This is very easy to answer, you should purchase a home if you have the credit score and finances to purchase a home. As a Woodbridge VA Real Estate Agent and an Real Estate Investor I fully believe in the wealth building by owning a home or several homes. Having said that if you own pets owning your own home is even more important. Many landlords have restrictions on owning pets and it can become difficult, as one of my clients recently learned.

My clients were PCS'ing from Norfolk area to the Woodbridge area and were planing to rent. They do have two dogs and three cats. The first day we were out looking at rental properties and they saw one house they really liked. It just happened to be that we ran into the landlord who told us the dogs and cats would be a a no go for him. If it was one cat or one dog, but ...... Long story short the next day we looked at homes for sale and before the weekend was over they were under contract to purchase a beautiful Dale City Single Family Home. They have been living in the home with their dogs and cats and if I am not mistaken they inherited two more cats. Owning a home is so much easier in this situation.

Having said that not everyone is in situation where they can purchase a home. If you are currently thinking about purchasing a home but you are unsure if you can qualify contact me today and I will get you in contact with an excellent lender that can provide you with all the details.
