Yesterday was the annual German Christkindlmarkt at the German Military in Reston. When I first was invited to this great German tradition in Reston the market was rather small and intimate. Now it has turned into a very popular event with lot and lots of visitors. This year was the first year you actually had to get a ticket for the traditional German Bratwurst with Sauerkraut. Luckily for me I saw my friends standing in line when we got there! Yeah.
Not quite sure what this guy is supposed to be but the kids either had fun or were scared of him. Lol. There were many stands one of my favorite every year is the stand from the Swiss Bakery. Love their stuff. If you are looking for great bread or some traditional Swiss and German goodies you should definitely check out the Swiss Bakery. They even had Grittibaenz.
The traditional German Bratwurst with Sauerkraut. It was yummy. If you are in the area for the German Christkindlmark you should stop by. It is always lots of fun. This year they even had a tent, with some heat to warm up. This year it actually wasn't too cold to be outside and the Gluehwein sure did its job to warm us up.
I definitely had lots of fun at the German Christkindlmarkt yesterday, its always nice to seeing so many familiar faces.
