As a Real Estate Agent I hear so many things my buyers absolutely want to have in a new home. From the double shower head, or rain shower head, to more choices of kitchen cabinets or additional options of light fixtures, to flexible floor plans, larger bedrooms and so much more.
What's most important to me? There are so many wow factors when walking into a home but one of the most important features for me is my house has to be functional. Meaning the areas I spend most time in should work for what I use them. I love a large family room and kitchen area. That's were I spend most of my time when I have friends over. I hardly ever use my dining room or my formal living room. These two rooms are nice to have but quite frankly I would rather have a much larger family room and kitchen. Of course having space for a dining room table would be nice, but I only use my dining room once or twice a year. Using that space for a bigger kitchen and family room would make much more sense. Having said that I am currently thinking about remodeling my kitchen and doing just that, pushing my kitchen all the way back and using the dining room space for a larger kitchen with a big kitchen island.
Another feature that is quite important to me is the flexibility of designing your master bathroom in a way that works for you. A lot of the builders standard options aren't very exiting and just plain boring. When looking through Pintrest or other Bathroom remodeling ideas there are great options available, but most of the time builders only offer the standard. Makes sense since that's what's selling, but it would be nice having some out of the box ideas.
