If you have been following me on Facebook you know I am a huge animal lover. I love dogs and cats and pretty much all animal, except spiders and other insects. I always thought I was too busy to actually have an animal until my friend, who is involved with an animal rescue group here in Woodbridge recommended I foster a cat. Well I wasn't very successful at fostering. Once I had my then foster home, and more important convinced my husband that there is simply no way I would let anyone else adopt "my cat" we or better I made it official and adopted him. He was an older cat that was sadly surrendered to the shelter by his previous owner. I really don't know what he had to go through at the shelter or with his previous owner, who also declawed him, but I do know once he started living with me he had an excellent life. Unfortunately his life was cut short due to cancer, but the short time I had with him was special and he knew he was very much loved and more importantly he was safe with us. Losing my first cat to cancer was terrible and I cried my eyes our for a while until I decided the best way to honor his life would be to adopt / rescue another cat. That was in September of last year and since then the cute little kitty in the above picture has been with us. He has totally won over my husband and the two of them are best buddies. I am still working on my husband to getting my kitty a playmate, but I am not sure that will happen in the near future or ever.
