With these cold temperatures we are currently having in Woodbridge VA the worst thing you can do is not keeping utilities on in a vacant home. The money that you are saving on utities isn't worth the risk of frozen pipes or worse.

Earlier today I was showing homes and one of the homes didn't have utilities on and the home was most likely not winterized. When we looked into one of the bathrooms this is what we saw. The water in the toilet was frozen. I truly hope there are no damages.

It is very important that when your home is on the market that you either keep on the utilities or you winterize the home. My preference is keep the utilities on. If you turn off the utilities bad things can happen. Like frozen pipes, flooding due to sump pump not working and so on.

 

If you had tenants in your home always revert the utilities back into your name as soon as the tenants move out. This way an interruption is avoided and you don't have to worry about  anything bad happening to the property.

The other day my friend took her dog Charlie Parker to the dog park in Woodbridge VA. Charlie had so much fun chasing his ball in the snow. This dog loves going to the dog park no matter what the weather conditions are.

The Woodbridge VA dog park is located off Minniville Rd in between Caton Hill and Old Bridge Rd. close to Tackets Mill. The dog park opened about two years ago and has been very popular with dog owners and of course their furry friends. The dog park offers a wide open area for larger dogs and then a smaller fenced in area for the little dogs.

Beautiful Snow Day in Woodbridge VA

Today is a beautiful day with the snow falling over night turning Woodbridge into a dream winter wonderland. I managed to get out early this morning to shovel the walkway and my drive way. The sun as taking care of the rest and has cleared the streets, which is great. 

All over Facebook I am seeing great snow pictures with kids and adults enjoying snow day. The schools are closed today, the local government has a liberal leave policy and the Federal government is closed for snow day. 

Snow days are always so much fun, stay in and try to keep warm. For a Real Estate Agent like me this is a great time to follow up on calls as many clients will be home making this a great time getting a hold of everyone.

Let me say this first I am one of these people that only plays the lottery when there is a large jackpot and each time I play I dream what I would be doing with the money if I win. I am realistic knowing that the chances are slimmer then slim for me to actually win, however it is fun to think about it and imagine.

What would you do if you win the lottery?

There is so much that one can do. Travel, Paying off all bills, Giving back and much more. 

My take on it is I would want to invest the money into Real Estate that actually generates money for me and of course the giving back, traveling, paying off bills and all that good stuff. But I wouldn't want to go crazy. I am not interested in buying expensive cars or an island, I am more realistic. I want to make sure me and my family are set for the rest of our lives.

Yesterday someone asked me if I would win the lottery if I would quite my job? Personally I don't think I would quite my job. Not working would be so boring. I love what I am doing and I love helping people achieve their real estate dreams, so no I would not want to quite my job. I would want to open my own brokerage and hire the right people so that I can take more vacations, see my family more but otherwise I would still like to work.

Well considering yesterdays winning tickets were sold in Puerto Rico, Texas and North Carolina there is no chance that I am a lottery winner this morning, but it was fun thinking about it.

I will stick with working hard, accomplishing my dreams and not count or expect on winning the lottery one day.
